Library Liquidation

If you are a literacy philanthropist, run a public book charity, or seek a new home for your books, the Bookish Corner can assist you with liquidation. We will evaluate your collection; restore the books that can be saved, and recycle the rest.

Book Restoration

Dirt and grime rarely come off, but small defects can be repaired to make a book shine anew. We are sentimental about books and their authors. Restoration is a time-consuming, labor-intensive process which we apply lovingly to your gifts. (See examples of successful restoration below.)

Remember: If your books have been sitting in a damp basement for twenty years, they are beyond repair. Our containers are not for you, alas. Consider instead gifting them to our competitors, who don’t engage in restoration and deal with the books as they are.

Advice on collection preservation: Dos and Don’ts for paper

  • Never keep your books in a garage for more than two or three days: Dampness leads to mold, which is irreversible.
  • Locate one of our donation containers using the map tool on this site and drop off your books sooner rather than later. (Wait for a dry sunny day if possible.) The containers are available 24/7 and are easy and Covid-safe to use.
  • If you have more than a hundred books to donate — please give a call. We’ll do our best to come out and help you with the drop-off.
